1. the amount of first-hand footage, and citizen journalism, that has come out of the Virginia Tech shooting has really compounded the point that was trying to be made in Digi Revs - about how much more common, and accessible, citizen journalism is now.
2. while looking on YouTube at aforementioned citizen journalism, i discovered a thing called YoungTubers - what seems to be a bunch of children, who have access to webcams or whatever, and who are blogging. a lot of it seems to be about the environment, but the age that some of them appeared... one girl looked about seven years old, at most. its kind of scary that children that age are being let loose on the internet, seemingly with no restriction about what they can do.
3. as i mentioned on my blog, its also interesting to note how increasingly digital the world is becoming, demonstrated by the caption beneath Funeral For A Friend's new video clip;
Check out the video for Funeral For A Friends' new single 'Into Oblivion (Reunion)' - out digitally on 30th April and physical 7th May. Taken from the brand new album 'Tales Don't Tell Themselves' - out 14th May.
it's just strange that it's out digitally before it's out physically, rather than being the same.

citizen journalism
The chaos was captured in dramatic mobile phone video footage that picked up the clatter of bullets fired in the attack, which came just days ahead of the anniversary of the shooting rampage at Columbine on April 20, 1999.

this is my life
so despite having a list of potential post topics for this blog, i have neglected to update it for over two weeks, a pitiful effort. however, following discussion last night, i decided it was time to update.
ben said that he'd read some of my blog, beyond the current 10 posts. katy and emma apparently read the whole thing last year. emma told me that she [thought she] saw anna at uni one day... becuase she read her blog.
and i admit, i do it too. i read peoples' blogs, and i don't know them. on my actual blog, look at the links list on the right-hand side. two of the people on that list i have never met before. i know people who know them, but i have never met them. before i deleted half my links, there were even more people like this.
but then, h4w much do you actually know about someone, just by reading their blog? some people blog random thoughts - so you know the sort of thing they think about. some people blog their horrible, depressing lives - so you know they have horrible, depressing lives. some people blog when they're bored - so you only hear those thoughts.
taking this to a more personal level now, i blog about my life. that is the purpose of my blog. that is why it's called sez's life. my life. my blog. however, i also have a written journal, where my more personal thoughts go. [in fact, i just took a break to write in it then]. i've never given a single person my diary to read. i have read from it, i have posted on my blog from it, but it actually is my most presonal experiences, thoughts, wishes; i don't trust anyone with them. i'm sure that my blog reflects somewhat what i'm writing about - if i'm writing about happy things, chances are my blog will be happy too. if i'm having a horrible week, my blog is far more likely to be sombre and contain profanities.
my point, as i said last night, is that my blog remains fairly upbeat, especially compared to some i've seen. its only when i'm in the depths of despair [see: 2005] when i blog the 'reality' that my life isn't sunshine, lollipops & rainbows.
nevertheless, how much can you tell about someone, just from reading their blog?
it probably depends on how much you read into what they're writing. how much you take it on board.
